On this International Women’s Day, I celebrate Jane Goodall, who has spent her vast career spanning over 6 decades dedicated to animal welfare and conservation. The world’s foremost expert in chimpanzees, she revealed nature in ways no one else has before. She has worked tirelessly to protect our world through a holistic approach, understanding that each and everyone of us plays a role in these efforts.
Even now, at 88 years young, she tours the globe working to inspire the next generation. She’s known to soothe her tired throat with a glass of whiskey and then take to the stage, sharing her message of hope.
As the universe would have it, I get to take my daughter – a young biology major and lifetime fan of Jane – to hear her speak later this month (the entire family is going, but it’s definitely for her). How fortunate that we can experience her wisdom during this month celebrating strong women.
May we all continue to inspire and help others, today and always.
